Schools

All Schools/ Governors are encouraged in line with the Goverment's Road Safety Strategy to:

• Ensure that road safety education and training takes place within the curriculum;
• Support training opportunities for those involved in co-ordinating and developing road safety education;
• Assist schools in raising parental awareness of their responsibilities towards helping children to be safer and;
• Recognise the significance that the development of road safety plans and school travel plans can have upon the local community and the school.

In order to achieve these objectives, the Road Safety Team, aims to support teachers and parents with educational resources and materials for all ages to promote road safety as part of the National Curriculum.
