The Reading Travel to Work Area (TtWA) Transport Innovation Fund (TIF) bid package submission has been developed by Reading Borough Council as lead authority, alongside neighbouring partner authorities. These authorities have participated in developing a wide range of complementary measures to encourage modal shift to address current and emerging congestion issues in the area. Modal shift would be achieved by further improving public transport, walking and cycling travel options that are available to people accessing the Reading area, whether for work, education or leisure facilities.

This bid has been designed as a smarter, innovative local transport package that combines demand management measures, e.g. a Low Emission Zone (LEZ), alongside a package of complementary measures to encourage modal shift and to offset the impacts of an LEZ.
