Reading Travel Information
This website provides information on traffic and travel in the Reading area and the M4 in the Thames Valley. It aims to allow you to make an informed decision about travel conditions across the local bus, rail and road network.
Select an option from the menu on the left or the list below to start viewing traffic and travel information.
Registered Users can create their own home page and can receive personalised e-mail and text message alerts providing live travel information for the Reading area. To become a registered user, please click on the 'Register' icon on the right hand side of this page.
Click on the heading 'Traffic Views' for still ('Traffic Images') and video (' Traffic Video') traffic images. The still images page ' Reading Traffic images' shows the location of traffic cameras in and around Reading while the page 'M4 Traffic Images' shows the location of the cameras along the M4 between junctions 5 and 12. Clicking on a camera gives you a 'live' snapshot of current traffic conditions.
The video views are CCTV footage of a 10 second clip of current conditions of the traffic. To view the CCTV video footage you will need Quicktime viewer on your PC.(Further formats coming soon.)
The 'Car Parking' page indicates the current availability of spaces in car parks within central Reading and also allows you to get a prediction of future conditions.
